Banks County Elementary School students were greeted by a celebrity this past week, Ryan Beesley. Students have been learning about the weather and its impact on Georgia residents.

Banks County Schools will be closed Friday, November 11, 2022, as the area is under a wind advisory due to the projected path of the storm and the potential issues during travel times. All activities for Thursday, November 10th will take place as scheduled. No extra-curricular activities will take place on Friday, November 11th. Thank you and please stay safe.

Banks County High School FFA Ag Mechanics and Foresty earned two National Champions.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), provides eligible low-income households with a $30 monthly subsidy for broadband service. School districts may request any combination of the below options provided by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and conducted by CTC Technology & Energy (CTC) to promote ACP enrollment for students and their families.

Banks County Schools had a celebration parade to honor Banks County High School's FFA teams as they headed to Indiana to compete in Nationals. Banks County EMS, Fire Department, and the Banks County Sheriff's office led the parade.

At the October Board of Education Meeting, students from Banks County Primary, Banks County Elementary, Banks County Middle, and Banks County High School were recognized for academic excellence. Teachers chose students for their commitment, dedication, and hard work during the school year.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp recognized the 2021 Georgia National Fair Livestock Champions at the Georgia National Fair Opening Ceremonies. Banks County High School student Paycee Jackson was one of the recipients.

Banks County Primary School selected Mrs. Chrystal Carlan as Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year as Mrs. Michelle Brown.

Banks County Elementary School selected Mrs. Liz Peppers as Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year as Ms. Callie Shirley.

Banks County Middle School selected Mrs. Julie Parker as Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year as Mrs. Hannah Elrod.

Banks County High School selected Mrs. Asha Ravencraft as Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the year as Mrs. Robin Easley.
