Banks County Primary School Recognized for Increased Student Growth and Kindergarten Reading Rate

Banks County Primary School (BCPS) has been recognized for its outstanding achievements in student growth and early literacy success during the 2023-2024 school year. The school was recently honored for exceptional performance in ACCESS Band Movement, a key measure of English language proficiency growth. The school was also recognized for achieving an impressive kindergarten reading rate of 86%, as measured by i-Ready, a research-based program designed to support students in reading and math.

BCPS faculty and staff were recognized in a special awards ceremony to celebrate these accomplishments. They were presented with a plaque and treated to refreshments during the event. Attendees included Superintendent Dr. Ann Hopkins, Assistant Superintendent Joy Edwards, 7-12 Curriculum Director Michael Williams, K-5 Teaching and Learning Director Linda Hawks, and other district leaders.
