The event, sponsored by the Banks County Rotary Club, was held on June 12 at Hidden Acres in Gillsville. April Loggins received the Education Community Impact Award for faculty, and Bobby Smith received the Education Community Impact Award for staff.
Loggins, Banks County High School counselor, goes above and beyond through her support for all students, including college admissions, employment opportunities, and FAFSA aid. Beyond school hours, she guides students and parents in academic and career planning and creates networks with local businesses. She is also an avid supporter of the system's sports programs.
Smith has been a maintenance technician for Banks County Schools for over 27 years. He has served as a leader and mentor in the department. He has also been a volunteer coach for Banks County Schools and local baseball leagues. In addition, he has volunteered his time in dirt track racing, and can often be seen supporting his grandchildren at sports events.
